Edging closer to TI8 — set to take place in a matter of days, Valve has released information regarding the TI8 prize pool distribution, pubstomps, and newcomer stream.

With the biggest Dota 2 event of the year —and potentially of all history, The International 2018 is just around the corner, kicking off on August 15th with the first matches of the group stage. Part of what makes things a huge success for spectators around the world is some of the fine-tuned details that bring the experience to the audience.

Of most interest to fans that are unable to attend are usually the Newcomer Stream and Pubstomps.

Newcomer Stream

The "Newcomer Stream" was first introduced for The International 4. The stream was designed to explain the basics to first-time viewers as the event had begun to make waves and attract mainstream attention. Since then, it has garnered much attention and popularity, becoming a cornerstone for making Dota 2 accessible to new and curious fans.

Fans will be able to watch the main broadcast "enhanced with contextual overlays that call out information helpful for understanding the intricate world of Dota during the biggest event of the season."

Pubstomps

The highly popular gatherings and viewing parties gives fans a unique opportunity to experience the thrills of TI6 alongside other avid fans unable to attend the event live. It is an opportunity to gather around locally to cheer and support their favorite teams amidst an electrical vibe that comes only second to being at the event live. Traditionally there have been over 250 official outlets per year for fans to choose from.

Visit the Barcraft landing page to find a Pubstomp in your area.

Of course, what attracts the most attention —besides the gameplay and teams participating, is the prize pool. Currently it is sitting at $23,943,551 (a mere $844,365 less than last year's record-breaking $24,787,916) with time left for it to still rise. With that much money at stake, the prize pool distribution shows that each champion will receive a whopping $2 million each!

Last place teams will still receive a hefty sum of almost $60,000 per team to split —not a bad haul for just showing up!
