The tale of two stares

This is probably the biggest moment of the whole International. "The Stare' as I'll call it now is the biggest storyline that we've seen in the history of DOTA 2 that came to flesh in front of our very eyes. Millions of people who were tuned into the broadcast around the world saw this and reacted differently.

A lot of people loved the drama, some felt bad for notail, maybe a minority felt bad for fly but the point is. For that moment, it was the biggest story in all of esports.

People in general love drama, we all know that by now and given that esports is still in its infancy, we may not have seen a lot of these yet but this is the beauty of competition. There's always two sides to a story, the winner's and the other side.

I always hear the words that history is written by the victors and I fully believe that. We don't know if we will ever know the whole story but this picture shows so much more than just two sides.

For me, it's about the blind spot. I personally missed Fly's reaction on this and I don't even know how this picture came out but this is something that I definitely missed. In the brink of the moment, we only have two eyes to see what's actually happening and we tend to focus on what we want to see but sometimes, all it takes is to revisit a certain incident and see what actually happened.

This is not a story of who was right and who was wrong, I dont't think that fly's smile means that he is the good guy and notail is the badguy for reacting that way. We can paint different pictures and stories in our mind but they are the ones who know what the actual truth is. This is for us to interpret but the fact remains that the reality will be different from our perception.
